Our Hotel can be found on the island of Crete in an area of great natural beauty, surrounded by the largest olive grove on the island. On approaching Kapsaliana you will realise that the hotel is the village itself, a fascinating group of stone buildings of Cretan and Venetian architecture, nestling in peaceful surroundings with superb views of the countryside and the sea. It is the perfect place for rest and relaxation, particularly as the whole settlement has been painstakingly renovated using natural materials to create a harmonious blend of old and new. The mixture of the traditional Cretan architecture of the houses and courtyards combined with Venetian carved stone vaults and outside staircases, make it a visually appealing compound.
Twelve of the original houses have been carefully converted into comfortable elegant, comfortable guest houses clustered around the old Olive Press. Four new houses have been created to the same architecture as the original houses. Each house is individual in design and has all modern amenities within simple, tasteful interiors. Most houses have their own fireplace, private terrace, free internet access, music channels, satellite TV, mini bar, air-conditioning and central heating.
The privately owned Olive Press has been transformed into a lounge area for guests, complete with fireplace, comfortable armchairs and sofas, TV corner, books and magazines. There is also a large outdoor swimming pool for guests to swim, sunbathe and enjoy cool drinks and snacks from the bar.
At the centre of the settlement is a large stone building with outside terrace and garden square, this houses the reception, restaurant/café and lounge. Our restaurant and café allow you to enjoy a delicious meal or drink in front of a blazing fire or outside on the terrace. The terrace is covered by a pergola and can cater for groups of up to 150 people, in addition, the reception area includes a small lounge and a gift shop selling local handicrafts.
